      Why does the course say BLS and CPR? / ¿Por qué el curso dice BLS y CPR?

      English: CPR means cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It includes lifesaving skills such as chest compressions and rescue breaths. BLS means Basic Life Support. BLS includes CPR, AED use, ventilations, recognizing cardiac arrest, and working as part of a team. In simple words: CPR is one important part of BLS.

      English: Yes. You do not need to already be a healthcare provider to take this class. However, this course is commonly required for healthcare programs and healthcare-related jobs. If you are unsure which CPR course you need, please confirm the requirement with your school, employer, or program.

AHA BLS Provider Course | CPR & AED Training

This in-person CPR/BLS course helps students prepare to recognize cardiac arrest, activate emergency help, perform high-quality CPR, use an AED, and respond with confidence during real-life emergencies.

The course follows the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider course format and includes hands-on practice of adult, child, and infant CPR skills, AED use, rescue breaths, and team-based response.

Students are encouraged to review the course orientation and interactive study guide in Moodle before attending the in-person skills session.

Important: Moodle is used for preparation and review only. The course, skills practice, and completion requirements are completed in person with the instructor.

Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD) – 1 Hour Training (ADRD‑L1‑2026‑01)

Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD) – 1 Hour Training

This 1-hour training provides an overview of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD) in accordance with Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) training requirements.

The course introduces the basic characteristics of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, common signs and symptoms, stages of the disease, and person-centered care approaches.

Key topics include effective communication, understanding behavior as a form of communication, safety considerations, meaningful engagement, and the role of staff in supporting individuals living with ADRD in adult day care settings.
